Fortunately, professional-grade at-home teeth whitening kits, available at our Levittown cosmetic dentistry practice, can restore teeth to their original radiance. These kits allow our patients to achieve the dramatic results of professional teeth whitening in the comfort of their own homes and according to their own schedules.
Each teeth whitening kit comes with custom-crafted whitening trays. During an appointment at our office, impressions are taken of your teeth. The resulting molds are sent to our trusted dental laboratory where personalized whitening trays are fabricated. Because the trays are custom-fitted, they not only fit comfortably, but also make proper contact with the teeth without over-exposing the sensitive tissue of the gums to the whitening solution (a common problem with over the counter teeth whitening kits).
When the trays are complete, the patient returns to pick them up and receive thorough instructions on how to apply the bleaching gel, how to wear the trays, and how often and how long the trays should be worn. We also make note of the patient’s current tooth shade so that results can be monitored at the end of treatment. Typically these whitening trays are worn for an hour a day over a two-week period. The take-home kits can then be used for touch-ups as needed.
